FOREIGN TRADE ZONE

Puget Sound International is a Port of Tacoma designated general US Foreign Trade Zone. This allows you to take advantage of deferring U.S. Custom duties and excise taxes until merchandise leaves the Foreign Trade Zone. You can store merchandise while waiting for favorable market conditions or for inventory and cash flow purposes.

For example, since our customers are allowed access during storage, you can utilize that time to inspect, assemble or retrofit whatever is necessary to bring items into compliance with U.S. requirements. Merchandise scheduled for re-export may avoid customs fees entirely.

If your company is involved in import/export operations, P.S.I. will work diligently with you to help you maximize the advantages of Foreign Trade Zone use.

Our yards (Tacoma, WA, Oakland, CA, and Derry, NH) are fully fenced for added cargo security. For protection inside the offices and warehouses, we have electronic security systems with central station monitoring and full CCTV systems that meet or exceed insurance and U.S Customs and Border Protection requirements.
